FAQ's
What are the benefits of Folded Flyers?
A Folded Flyer is a simple and cost-effective way to print a multi-page document on just one sheet. With the range of folding styles on offer, you get to choose how your Folded Leaflet opens to reveal extra content to the reader.
Which Folded Leaflet should I choose?
There are a few issues to consider when deciding which style of Folded Flyer to choose. How many pages do you require? Is there a convention or industry standard for the type of document you wish to produce? Is it destined to go through a letter box? Or to stand up under its own weight? .
We recommend you explore our range and make a decision based on how you need to present your message and what you need your Folded Flyer or Leaflet to achieve.
What paper stock options are there for Folded Leaflet?
All of our Folded Flyers & Leaflets are available on Silk, Gloss, Bond, Kraft, Pulp or Matt Laminated paper stocks, in a range of thicknesses from lightweight stocks to suit mailshot campaign through to thicker card to suit a free-standing table-top or counter display.
How can I design a Folded Leaflet?
The best way to design your own Folded Leaflet is to use our downloadable templates, which you’ll find in the Templates tab at the foot of the product page. These templates are available in Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator or PDF formats. If you’re in any doubt about how your artwork will appear once folded, don’t hesitate to get in touch for guidance.
Can I have Folded Flyers sent to multiple addresses?
Yes, we offer unlimited multiple shipping addresses. Simply choose the ‘send to multiple addresses’ option at checkout. You can specify separate quantities for each address, select separate delivery dates for each address and even stipulate which addresses require Standard, pre-10.30am or pre-12pm delivery.
Why are there no templates for Folded Leaflet in Create Your Own?
We don’t currently offer this option in the Create Your Own tool, owing to the relative complexity involved in positioning and orienting your design to work as a Folded Leaflet. However, our free Folded Leaflet templates are available for all of the styles that we offer.
You can download these in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign or PDF formats and populate the template with your artwork. If you require some support in getting your design print-ready, contact us and we’ll put you in touch with our dedicated design team.
Can I supply my artwork as single pages for Folded Flyers?
If you’re only able to supply separate artwork for each page of your Folded Leaflet, additional design work will need to be done before your job is ready to print. We recommend either using our downloadable Folded Flyer templates to collect your pages in one file, or to contact our in-house design team for assistance in getting your artwork print-ready.
I'm using MS Publisher; how can I create artwork for a Folded Leaflet?
While the templates we offer are for use in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop or InDesign, you can still download the PDF template and import it into MS Publisher. Once you’ve created your artwork at the appropriate size and resolution, you can export it as a hi-res PDF and we should be able to use it for print.
What is the difference between Half Fold and Strip Half Fold?
Both Half Fold and Strip Fold involve folding a single sheet down the centre to create a 4 page document. The difference is that a Half Fold starts with the sheet in the landscape orientation, producing a portrait Leaflet in the regular 1:1.4 ratio.
Strip Fold, on the other hand, starts with the sheet in the portrait orientation to create a much slimmer portrait Leaflet with a ratio of 1:2.8.
What is a C Fold Leaflet?
A C Fold Leaflet, also known as Roll Fold, is where two parallel folds create a three-panel Folded Leaflet. Each of the outer panels if folded into the centre, creating a six-page Leaflet.
What is a Map Fold Leaflet?
A Map Fold Leaflet is one where a larger sheet is folded into slim portrait panels with alternating vertical creases. The resulting concertina is then folded in half horizontally, reducing the large sheet down to a handy, portable size.
What is 4pp, 8pp, 16pp etc?
This notation simply means the number of pages. Traditionally, a single p would stand for one page, an pp would denote ‘pages’ in the plural. A simple Half Fold Leaflet would be 4pp — two pages on one side of the sheet and two on the reverse, creating four pages.
Am I able to leave blank pages on my Folded Flyer?
You’re free to print whatever content you please on any of the pages of your Folded Leaflet. If you wish to leave one or more blank, please include the blank page in the design you submit, filled with the background colour of your choice.
Can I create a Folded Leaflet on MS WORD?
In theory, a Word document, if converted to a PDF of sufficient size and resolution would be fine to go to print. However, our experience tells us that better results are achieved when artwork is created via dedicated design software.
The Adobe suite of programs (including InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator) are particularly well suited to this purpose. We offer downloadable templates for each style of Folded Leaflet to use in these programs.
For other design software, you can import our PDF template as a blueprint for your artwork. If you don’t have access to dedicated design software, we recommend using a graphic designer or speaking to our in-house design team ahead of attempting a design in MS Word.
