Direct-to-Plate

Similar to CTP, direct-to-plate is a technology that enables a digital image to be transferred directly onto a printing plate.

However, unlike CTP, direct-to-plate processes don't require a separate plate-making process, as the imaging occurs directly on the press.

This streamlined approach can result in less waste and shorter setup times, facilitating more efficient print runs.

However the method never really took off and therefore isn't very prevalent.
