Greyscale

Greyscale refers to a range of monochromatic shades from black to white.

In printing, a greyscale image is one where the value of each pixel is a single sample, representing only an amount of light, rather than colour.

Greyscale is important in scenarios where colour is not required, or for adding different tones to black and white images.
